She was admitted into the New Jersey Bar and the New York Bar in 2002. Upon completing her clerkship, Sandy was an attorney at Legal Services in Essex County before becoming an associate for the Law Office of Anayancy R. Housman, Esq. in 2003. Sandy specialized in immigration law, handling a broad range of matters before the Department of Homeland Security (INS) and the Executive Office of Immigration Review. Her caseload included but was not limited to asylum seekers, lawful permanent residents, criminal aliens and detainees. Sandy has extensive legal writing experience, especially with submissions to the Board of Immigration Appeals. During law school, Sandy interned for the Honorable Judge Donald Goldman in the Essex County Superior Court - Criminal Division; as well as with the New York Immigration Court.

Now, Sandy is pleased to join her fellow alumnae, Laura M. Mendonca and Alexandra Garcia Pagan, in forming the law firm of Morales, Mendonca & Pagan, L.L.C. where she can continue to practice immigration law, both personal and business, and build a bankruptcy law practice. She also handles municipal matters.

AREA OF PRACTICE: The focus of Sandy's immigration practice includes but is not limited to the following: (1) asylum applications; (2) bond hearings; (3) Removal and Deportation Proceedings before the Immigration Court representing asylees, criminal aliens, lawful permanent residents and illegal aliens; (5) Visa applications; and (6) family and employment based adjustments of status. Sandy is prepared to assist hospitals and other organizations to recruit medical professionals from other countries (especially nurses) through the Labor Certification process with the INS. Sandy is able to represent clients in both New Jersey and New York, and her fluency in Spanish is an asset to her practice.
